The Perfect Mix
In 2021, I was approached by Clarke Finney to illustrate her children’s book. We worked hand in hand for over a year to bring her vision to life. I am honored to have been able to work on it.
This book is a reminder that self-love takes practice! It is about her growing up and facing the challenges of having mixed hair and learning how to love it. It is Clarke’s personal story of self-discovery, growth, and self-acceptance.
Self-Love is Everything
I was lucky enough to illustrate not only the 52 page book but also the official coloring book. Every page allows the reader to travel back in time. They accompany Clarke on her journey to understand her own mixed heritage and to love her hair.
Empower others and help share their story
I am so excited that the community truly embraced the message of this book. I feel like it is going to help so many children understand that everything that makes them “different” is what makes them perfect.
This children’s book has been shared by a number of San Antonio organizations including Hopscotch, The DoSeum, Twig, Spurs Give, and others.
