The Studio at The McNay
As a part of The DoSeum’s Design Studio team, we were contracted to design an exhibit space for The McNay. This space is meant to be a creative interactive and hands-on learning space, that features not only the work of various artists but the unique attributes of The McNay itself. Inside, visitors can explore discovery boxes in an immersive garden wall, create shadow shapes, view artworks, share their thoughts and ideas on art, and even create their own exhibitions using McNay’s expansive collection.

The Challenge
The whole space is designed to showcase the unique features of the McNay, including its beautiful gardens and incredible art collection. The challenge was how to creatively design something that honored The DoSeum’s hands-on and play-forward philosophy while not disrupting The McNay brand.
The Results
I am thrilled with how everything turned out for this amazing project; from designing the look, tone, and feel to the logo to the typography layouts to wall textures everything really came together!
It is the hope of The DoSeum Design Studio team that visitors leave saying they belong as artists and creators. This project involved working closely with The DoSeum’s Chief Creative Officer, exhibit designer, and tech team to craft a one-of-a-kind experience.
